Why I've Decided to Blog

I don't know much about blogs or blogging, but after having my first born son(July 2014) my life and thoughts on life have completely changed.  Weirder things run through my mind now, and my passion for leaving a legacy and inscribing about it is intense.  I want my son to be able to look back at my stories, and of course the ones with him included, and smile. I want to share with others my passions of hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. My hope is that it inspires others and most importantly, Archer (my son), to get out an enjoy God's beautiful creation.
The outdoors have always been a part of my life.  I actually think I started hunting in the womb, my mom hunted, and I was a Thanksgiving baby, so I think that can actually be true.  My father's family has owned land since it was homesteaded in the late 1800's and I think hunting, fishing and being outdoors is in the DNA. I hope and pray that my son got some of that passed on to him.

For the past six years I have hunted with a bow exclusively.  Most of my kills have come by the way of the California Ground Squirrel.

They make small targets and tons of fun.  I have managed to poke a couple wild pigs, and have passed on many small bucks.  This year I am hoping to find a nice mature buck in the high country and to be able to share trials and tribulations here.

I also am looking forward to sharing my fishing adventures.  Fishing in any shape or form is great, my favorite type of fishing is from a kayak.  Bass fishing in rivers and reservoirs and rock fishing in the Pacific have been my preferred lately.
